“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.” 1 John 1:5-6
As followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, you and I have moved by Him from darkness to light. And now we are to live as children of light”¦not children of darkness.
How do we know if we are walking in that light? If we are following Jesus, because He is that light! In fact, if you want to put the Christian faith in one sentence you could put it this way: God became one with us in order that we might become one with Him.
So how do you live and walk in the light? It starts with what you are doing right now, and that’s to spend time meditating on His Word. I hope you will take seriously the need to dig into God’s Word each and every day. Only through His Word can you know how to walk in the light. The Psalmist says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
It also means a commitment to intimacy with God through prayer. Allow God to speak to you through His Word and through prayer. As you do you find that you will have sweet fellowship with Him and walk in the light as He is in the light.
Commit today to walk in the light through meditating on God’s Word and a life of prayer!
