“The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia.” Acts 7:2
This world is such a self-centered place, especially here in America where so many people’s universe begins and ends with themselves. Most people have such short-sighted vision that they can’t see past their own concerns.
But as Christians, you and I are called to see something far greater, something that is invisible except to the eyes of faith. Christ wants us to “see””¦to set our hearts, minds, and eyes on”¦Him and His kingdom. Just like Abraham did.
Hebrews 11:8-10 tells us, “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.”
Abraham got up and left Mesopotamia because he “saw” a city that God had promised, and he acted on what he saw through the eyes of faith.
As a completely sold-out Christian, you should see a different reality. A reality that can only be seen through the eyes of faith as you trust God at His Word.
Ask yourself today, “Am I sold out to Christ? Do I have a vision that allows me to see what God sees?” If you’re having trouble seeing the invisible today, ask the Lord to help you get your spiritual sight in focus.
AS CHRISTIANS WE ARE CALLED TO SEE AND LIVE BY SPIRITUAL REALITIES THAT ARE INVISIBLE TO OUR WORLD.
