“Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.” Romans 14:13

As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, you and I have been given a tremendous gift: the forgiveness of our sins.

And as a result, you and I are people who are deeply indebted”¦it’s an indebtedness that should directly impact our lives. This means we have a responsibility not to do anything that would cause a weaker brother or sister to stumble into sin.

Now, it’s important you realize that I’m not endorsing any form of legalism. But you need to look carefully at your life and make sure you’re doing or saying anything that could cause a brother or sister in Christ to stumble”¦to fail in their Christian walk.

I know this isn’t the easiest question to answer, but it’s vital that your life not be a stumbling block to others.

I want to challenge you today to eliminate anything from your life that might make another brother or sister stumble. Because as a follower of Christ, you have the responsibility “¦ you owe the debt “¦ to only “pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding” (Romans 14:19).

PAY ATTENTION TO THE DEBT YOU OWE TO NOT MAKE YOUR WEAKER BROTHER OR SISTER STUMBLE.
