Day 29

Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.”

–Acts 12:5-8

Like Peter, perhaps today you feel like you’re in a “prison” of illness, loneliness, or depression. Perhaps you feel as though you’re walking down a dead-end path. Or perhaps you feel you are chained to your past and it seems as though there is no way out.

I want you to know that God can make a way when there seems to be no way out. And the way He works is through His Word”¦and through prayer.

More than ever, you and I have to spend more time in prayer””for our own strength and courage, for our family and friends, for our ministers, and for our government. Because prayer can dramatically change situations!

Even now, you may still be asking yourself, “Where is my life going? What’s my purpose here? Why do I seem to lack direction in my life?”

Well, let me ask you”¦have you truly focused on praying about your situation?

When you’re trying to dig your way through the muck and mess of life, remember that prayer will get you through it. It’s the only way you will ever know the provision, perfect joy, peace, and power through the Lord Jesus Christ!

THROUGH PRAYER, GOD CAN MAKE A WAY WHEN THERE SEEMS TO BE NO WAY OUT.
