“Even if I am to be poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrificial offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. Likewise you also should be glad and rejoice with me. ” Philippians 2:17-18
In the family of God, we should live as a band of brothers”¦to be there for one another. This is especially important to restore the fallen, lift the bruised and broken, and encourage one another in the faith.
Friends are available and friends are accountable. And each of us needs those friends who are both available and hold us accountable.
Do you have people in your life you can look to when you are in need? If not, I encourage you to make finding those friends a priority. And are there people who depend on you? Not only do we need friends, we need to be a friend. We need accountability and to hold others accountable.
Now, let me leave you today with this one final thought. In the Bible, we are told that God has called us His friends! As a believer, you are a friend of God. It’s a phenomenal thought, but that is exactly the relationship He gives us!
Life is meant to be lived in relationship”¦a relationship with God, with His people, and with the family and friends we share in Christ. These relationships are among the greatest treasures of life itself!
AS CHRISTIANS, WE SHOULD BE A BAND OF BROTHERS WHO ARE ALWAYS THERE FOR ONE ANOTHER.
