“Blessed are you when others revile you”¦and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.” Matthew 5:11

We all know that words can hurt us”¦and that unfair accusations or lies can sap us of spiritual and physical vitality. This is what Nehemiah’s accusers hoped to do to him in chapter 6 by making very serious charges against him.

Nehemiah didn’t have the words of Jesus to reassure him, but he did understand a very important principle: If you’re living for God and someone accuses you falsely because of it, it’s a sign of blessing. In fact, Jesus said, “Your reward is great in heaven” (Matthew 5:12).

Perhaps you’re being accused of having wrong motives in your service for Christ. Or maybe someone is accusing you of saying or doing something that isn’t true, If so, remember you can still have joy in the Lord! Like Nehemiah, you can rise above the rumors and stay the course in your service for the Lord.

Make the words of Hebrews 12:2 your prayer today: “looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”Look to Jesus, who also endured persecution and false accusations, and keep running the race!

FALSE ACCUSATIONS MEAN TRUE REWARDS WHEN YOU BEAR THEM FOR CHRIST!
